In 2021, Failure released their latest album, Wild Type Droid. Since then, the band unveiled a documentary featuring Hayley Williams, who covered their 1996 song "Daylight" with Failure frontman Ken Andrews at the G*VE A F*CK LA benefit a year ago. Now the grunge greats are back with the announcement of their seventh studio LP called Location Lost, and it has the Paramore bandleader guesting on a track.
"It's very different," guitarist/bassist Greg Edwards says of the record. "There are sounds and parts that really don’t have any precedence within the Failure world."
The lead single "The Air's On Fire" is out today, and it's inspired by the surgery Andrews underwent for a back injury. "That song is directly about my surgery and waking up," he explains. "I basically coded. Everything was spinning. I kept saying, 'Turn the air on. I'm fine — just take me home.' I was definitely not fine."
The eerie tune comes with a music video directed by Sean Stout. Watch below.
