Avalon Emerson has been leading up to the release of Written Into Changes, her upcoming album with her recently revived project the Charm, with the very good singles "Jupiter And Mars" and "Eden." Emerson began working on the record after moving from Berlin to upstate New York, and that move inspired today's new single, which is also the album's title track.
As Emerson explains in a press release: "Sometimes change barrels down tracks, announced by a high loud whistle. Other times it flows seasonally over sand, carving a canyon." "Written Into Changes" is a lightly psychedelic dream pop song that distills a lot of major feelings that come about during those big transition periods — nerves, grief, and excitement. Check it out below.
Written Into Changes is out 3/20 on Dead Oceans.
