Typical Girls is the Slits-referencing solo project of Apache Beat's Ilirjana Alushaj. "Our Real Is Real," which includes production assistance from CFCF's Mike Silver, doesn't conjure Ari Up in obvious ways. You may note a shared sense of compression and echo as well as sharp guitars and a chunky bassline, but this is more about smooth, zone-out pop dancing than a grubby punk revolution, something brought to the fore by an accompanying Brother Bruno remix.
