This summer, Manchester-based mixtape perennial Holy Other releases his debut EP on Tri Angle Records, home of similarly gauzy/gothic, dragged-out beat and R&B experimentalists like Balam Acab, How To Dress Well, and Clams Casino. From Holy Other's strong introductory single -- "We Over" b/w "Yr Love" -- it's the latter that carries over to the With U EP. The other four are new and highly recommended listening, slowly unfolding ritual darkness rippling with dense, hazy synths, spacious patience, pitch-shifted and cut up vocals, libidinous and languid beats.
